Udupi: Man found guilty of theft sentenced to imprisonment

The Special CBI Court in Jammu on Tuesday sentenced a former Executive Engineer of Northern Railways to five years' imprisonment in a bribery case

Udupi: A man accused of theft was found guilty and given an imprisonment sentence by a court here.

The Principal Senior CJ and CJM. court of the city found Philip Thomas guilty of theft at an advocate’s home and sentenced him.

Philip P. Thomas was accused of breaking into the home of advocate Noel Prashant Karkada next to UBMC Jubilee Church on February at around 2.00 pm. A laptop and mobile phone were stolen.

Following the investigation, the Sub-Inspector of Udupi City Police Station filed a chargesheet against Thomas.

Thomas was given an 8-month prison sentence after Judge Shakuntala S. of the Principal Senior CJ and CJM court found Thomas guilty on all charges.
