Udupi: Man steals lakhs of rupees from ATM

Udupi: A man was robbed lakh of rupees by snatching his ATM card. The incident took place in Udupi.

M. Balakrishna Nayak Bannanje had served in Syndicate Bank and was currently leading a retired life. After his wife’s death on June 5, he lived alone at Haridarshana House in Bannanje. The accused Ramesh and his wife from Haveri District, who worked as a ward boy at a Government hospital, were given a free room in the house and an arrangement was made for their living.

Between July 4 to October 10, the accused Ramesh used Balakrishna Nayak’s ATM card and mobile OTP to collect a total of Rs. 9,75,500 from various ATMs on different days. He has drawn money and cheated Nayak . Two gold rings were also found missing from Natak’s house, which he suspects were also taken away by the accused.
