Udupi: Special team formed to probe dentist’s death

Udupi: A special team led by Kundapura CPI Gopikrishna has been formed to investigate the death of dentist Dr. Krishnamurthy Sarpangala, informed Udupi Superintendent of Police Hakay Akshay Machhindra.

The 57-year-old dentist had gone missing on the afternoon of November 8. His wife’s complaint led the Badiadka police to register a missing case.

On November 10, Dr. Krishnamurthy was found dead on a railway track in the Hittiangadi village of Ajji Mane, near Kundapura. After all the formalities were finished, the body was handed to the family, and on Friday morning, his funeral was held.

The police have arrested T. S. Ali Poottukallu, Mohammed Shihabuddin, Umarul Farooq, Ashraf, and Mohammed Hanif.

The special team has already started the investigation in collaboration with the Kasaragod police.
