Udupi: The management of the temples should not be run by the Government but should be handed over to the Hindus. The Cow Protection and Anti-slaughter Law should be implemented properly and ancillary schemes for cow protection should be supported. Further, steps should be taken to prevent encroachment of land in temples, said Vishwaprasanna Theertha Seer of Pejawara Matha.
Speaking to mediapersons after a meeting of sadhus and saints from the Coastal areas, he said, “Corruption-free, clean and transparent governance should be provided. We have submitted our demands to Nadda for the betterment of the society. I am confident that they will fulfill it in the future,” he said.
Replying to a question, he said, “Even if the other party comes, we will put the same issue before them. The party is not important to us. Whatever society needs, we will put such issues before any Government, or people’s representatives,” he added.
