Udupi: Thieves rob Rs 6L from hardware shop owner

Udupi: Rs 6 lakh was robbed from the shop owner by a person who came in under the guise of a customer. The owner was on his way home after closing the shop. The incident took place in Kaup on the night of Thursday December 22.

Kaup Mahalasa Store owner Raghavendra Kini has lodged a complaint with the Kaup Police Station about the loss of money.

Raghavendra Kini, who owns a hardware and milk business in Kaup Market, was getting ready to leave for home after locking the shop on Thursday night when an unidentified person posing as a customer committed the crime.

The owner of the shop was carrying cash which was transaction of 3 to 4-day. After the cash was kept in a scooty and the owner had gone to lock the shop, the thieves punctured the scooty and decamped with the cash.

Police along with fingerprints and dog squad has visited the spot.
