Udupi: A woman, who attempted suicide, was rescued by the Railway Police and Udupi District Civil Society Committee Members at Indrali Railway Station. The woman was later rehabilitated at the Hosavilakku Ashrama in Bailoor.

The woman rescued has been identified as 32-year-old Savitha, a resident of Gedlahalli.
The relatives have been advised to contact Hosavilakku Ashrama in Bailoor of Karkala.

Inspector P. V. Madhusudhan, Constable Jeena Pinto and Ashrama Convenor Tanula Tarun were involved in the operation.

The rescued woman claimed that she was mentally disturbed and faced with family problems in her life and had thus attempted suicide. The matter came to light when police on duty, who suspected the woman’s behaviour at the Railway Station, enquired about her.
