Unpaid for his work, desperate youth attempts suicide

Kundapur: A youth tried to commit suicide at Vandse in Kundapur, on Tuesday, August 1, saying that he is not paid for his work regularly.

Biju(28) from Kerala worked for daily wages and had become desperate due to the irregular payment. He climbed the mobile tower and threatened to commit suicide.

His employer Shashidharan, who has a construction business was not happy with Biju’s work during the last few months stopped paying him. Biju is associated with Shashidharan since eight years.

Biju stated that around Rs 60,000 is due from his employer. Recently Shashidharan paid him Rs 10000. Irritated with this he climbed the 300 feet height mobile tower belonging to Reliance Company.

Police, Fire service and large number of people gathered and tried to get him down; Biju was not ready to get down and demanded payment on the spot.

Later Shashidharn came to spot and assured him of making payment with in 2 days after which he agreed to come down and fire service personnel climbed the tower to help him.
