Karkala: A young mentally challenged lady committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence, here on Saturday February 6.
The deceased is Bismillah (28), housed near Nitte Lamina Foundation.
On Saturday morning, she is said to have hanged herself to a ceiling fan in a room. As the family members heard the sound of a chair fall, they rushed to the room. Though they tried to rescue her, she could not be saved.
Her brother Ramzan has lodged a complaint with the Karkala rural police.
