Karwar: Telugu film actor Akhil Raj was saved from drowning by lifeguards and members of MysticGokarna when he was dragged under the sea by waves while swimming. Raj was in the City for the past four days and was on a visit to the Mahabaleshwara Temple.
He visited the Mahabaleshwara and Ganapathi Temples before coming to Kudle Beach. He was swimming, when he was dragged deep into the sea. MysticGokarna Adventures members rushed to the spot in jet skies and saved him.
A video of his rescue has gone viral. “Thank God, Nothing happened to me. The underwater current is dangerous. I knew how to swim, but it didn’t help,” he tweeted.
