Karwar: In an incident that took place at Ice Factory Chendia in the Taluk where the police arrested the accused who was trying to sell liquor illegally from Goa without a permit.
The arrested has been identified as Nagaraj Devidas Talekar and Goa liquor worth Rs. 49,792 has been seized from the arrested person. Nagaraj, who was arrested on Subrahmanyanagar Road near Ice Factory Chendia, brought liquor from Goa and was selling it near his house.
Another accused, a local panchayat member Rajesh Naik is absconding. The operation was conducted under the leadership of Karwar Rural Police Station Inspector Sitaram and a case has been registered in this regard.
