Karwar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing a massive rally in Sirsi in the Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency on April 28, said BJP district president NS Hegde.

The Prime Minister will address a rally in the town; it will be the second visit of the prime minister to the district. He will be addressing the voters of all eight assembly constituencies of the Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha segment on that day at 11 am.

The PM, later in the day, will be flying to Belagavi, where he will address voters of the Belagavi and Chikkodi Lok Sabha constituencies and seek votes for former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar and Anna Saheb Jolle, who are contesting from Belagavi and Chikkodi respectively.

In Uttara Kannada, former Assembly Speaker Vishweshwara Hegade Kageri is contesting against former Khanapur MLA Anjali Nimbalkar from Congress. The incumbent MP from this seat, Ananthkumar Hegde, was denied a ticket.

Hegde has gone incommunicado since the announcement of the ticket to Kageri. It will be interesting to see whether he will share the stage with PM Modi. It will be interesting to watch the move of another disgruntled BJP MLA Arbail Shivaram Hebbar, who is indirectly supporting the Congress party, to see whether he will participate in the rally or not.

Second phase of Lok Sabha polling in Karnataka will take place on May 7.
