Davangere Contractor Ends Life, Death Note Blames KRIDL Bill Delay

Suicide

Davanagere: A contractor, identified as 48-year-old PS Goudar, was found dead by suicide earlier this week in Santebennur, Channagiri taluk. According to reports, Goudar took his own life due to a combination of factors, including alleged non-payment of bills and a family dispute.

Goudar reportedly left a death note claiming that the Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL) had not cleared his dues for work completed in February 2023 at the Santebennur agriculture department office. This financial strain, coupled with a family conflict, appears to have driven him to take this tragic step.

The death note further alleges that Goudar’s elder brother caused him financial and mental stress by refusing to relinquish ancestral property despite receiving a substantial pension. Additionally, Goudar accused his younger brother, Sreenivas, his sister-in-law, and her father of causing him financial loss and emotional distress.

Following the incident, Goudar’s wife, Vasant Kumari, registered a First Information Report (FIR) with the police. A case has been filed under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertains to abetment of suicide.

The police are currently investigating the case and will be looking into the claims made in the death note.
