Davangere: The Dharwad–KSR Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 20662) made an unscheduled halt at Davangere station around 3:30 PM today after a vigilant level crossing gatekeeper near Amaravati Colony detected a hot axle in the C4 coach.

As a precaution, the train was immediately stopped and inspected by railway authorities at Davangere station. Onboard were 502 passengers, all of whom were safely managed with timely support and clear guidance from Railway officials.

To minimise disruption, alternate travel arrangements were swiftly made. Passengers were rebooked on Train No. 12080 Jan Shatabdi Express and Train No. 16507 Jodhpur Express for the remainder of their journey to Bengaluru.

At Arsikere station, food and snacks were distributed to affected travellers, and Help Desks have been set up at KSR Bengaluru (SBC) and Yesvantpur (YPR) stations to assist upon arrival.

South Western Railway has initiated refunds for fare differences for passengers shifted to other trains. The department issued an apology for the inconvenience, affirming that passenger safety and comfort remain top priorities.
