In a distressing incident on Tuesday night, a section of the roof at Chigateri District General Hospital in Davanagere reportedly collapsed, injuring three individuals, including a young child.
The injured were identified as Kaveri (36), Prema (46), and a two-and-a-half-year-old child, Nethra, all residents of Halavagalu village in Vijayanagara district. The trio was visiting a relative undergoing treatment at the hospital when the incident occurred.
Following prompt medical attention at the hospital, the injured have now returned home.
This incident raises serious concerns about the structural integrity and maintenance of public healthcare facilities in the region. Authorities are expected to investigate the collapse and take necessary measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
