Tribal boy tied, tortured and stung with red ants in shocking viral video
A horrifying incident has surfaced from Asthapana Halli near Nallur in Channagiri taluk, where a young boy accused of theft was tied to an arecanut tree and brutally tortured by having red ants released onto his private parts. The shocking act came to light after a disturbing video of the torture began circulating on social media recently.
The incident, which reportedly took place a few months ago, involved the boy—belonging to the Hakki Pikki tribal community—being beaten by a group of 10 to 15 youths from the same community. The video shows the minor being whipped with sticks and a water pipe, his cries of pain ignored by his attackers.
Following the circulation of the video, the boy’s grandfather lodged a police complaint, prompting authorities to take swift action. An FIR has been registered against nine individuals, and two suspects have already been taken into custody.
Police are continuing their investigation to trace the remaining accused. The case has triggered outrage, with many calling for stringent action under laws protecting tribal communities and minors from abuse and cruelty.
