Dharwad Zilla Panchayat CEO Bhuvanesh Patil has ordered the issuance of show cause notices to 106 schools that recorded poor SSLC results last academic year.
In a special review meeting held with headmasters of schools scoring below 50% pass percentage, Patil expressed serious concern over the performance. Notably, six schools reported zero pass rates—two aided and four unaided. The CEO directed that a detailed report be sent to the government and students from these institutions be relocated to better-performing nearby schools.
Strict warning was also issued to schools that skipped the meeting, with Patil cautioning that their permissions could be revoked. Disciplinary action will be initiated against underperforming staff, including teachers and education department officials.
The DDPI office has been tasked with preparing a comprehensive academic improvement plan. The review meeting was attended by officials from the Department of Public Instruction, DIET, and representatives from the underperforming schools.
