District in-charge Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar strongly condemned the assault on a woman who was allegedly tied to a tree and beaten over accusations of fish theft in Malpe. She directed authorities to take stringent action against those responsible for the inhumane act.
“Tying a woman and assaulting her in such a manner is completely unacceptable,” Hebbalkar stated. “Upon learning of the incident, I immediately spoke with officials and instructed them to take immediate action. Three individuals have already been arrested, and I have ordered a thorough investigation to determine if there are others involved.”
She further emphasized that such behavior would not be tolerated and reiterated that, “Police will take the appropriate action against the offenders. We cannot allow individuals to take the law into their own hands.”
Hebbalkar assured the public that a detailed investigation would be carried out and that necessary steps would be taken to ensure justice is served.
