Karnataka police have arrested four individuals in connection with the murder of Bhagappa Hucchappa Harijan, who was killed outside his residence in Madeena Nagar on February 11. The accused—Prakash alias Pintu Laxman Melinakeri (26), Rahul Bheemashankar Talakeri (20), Sudeep Renuka Kamble (20), and Manikantha alias Gadigeppa Shankarappa Benakopp—were taken into custody after a thorough investigation.
According to Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi, Bhagappa was shot and then attacked with sharp weapons, resulting in his immediate death. Bhagappa’s daughter, Gangubai, filed a complaint naming Prakash as the primary suspect.
Bhagappa had a criminal background, including involvement in multiple cases. His death is believed to be linked to previous conflicts and grievances with the accused. The police are now working to recover the weapons used in the crime, and further arrests may follow as the investigation continues.
