Fraud Case Registered Against Guest Lecturers Association Leaders

Fraud

Sagar: A case of fraud has been filed at the city police station against the president and other office-bearers of the Guest Lecturers Association, accused of deceiving fellow guest lecturers with false promises of regularising their services.

The individuals named in the complaint include Hanumanta Gowda Kalmani, the association’s president from Gadag, Secretary Peter Vinod Chand from Hubli, and Shalini K. from Marathoor village in Sagar Taluk. The police have initiated an investigation into the allegations.

According to the complaint filed by several guest lecturers—S.M. Ganapathy, Kaushik Kanugodu, Bhavya V., Ashoka A., and Anusha L.V.—the accused allegedly collected a total of ₹17.5 lakh through bank transactions, claiming they would secure permanent positions for them.

The complainants assert that they were misled by the association leaders, who leveraged their connections with the Higher Education Minister and the Commissioner of the Education Department to gain trust. However, after receiving the money, the accused reportedly failed to fulfil their promises and did not return the funds.

The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the details of this alleged fraudulent scheme and ensure accountability for the accused.
