A 26-year-old woman from Narayanapura in Karnataka’s Gadag district was allegedly murdered by her long-time partner, who secretly disposed of her body by burying it near a stream. The shocking revelation came nearly six months after her disappearance.

The accused, Satish Hiremath (28), admitted to the crime during police questioning. He and the victim, Madhushree Angadi, were in a romantic relationship spanning six years. When her family discovered the affair, she was moved to Gadag town to live with relatives.

On the night of December 16, 2024, Madhushree left her relatives’ home but never came back. A missing complaint was registered nearly a month later at Betageri Police Station. Initially, Satish claimed to have last seen her near the town outskirts.

However, technical evidence raised doubts. Madhushree’s mobile signal was traced to a location inconsistent with Satish’s story. This prompted the police to re-examine his version.

Under pressure, Satish confessed to strangling her with a scarf following a heated argument over marriage. He then buried her body beside a stream near a farmhouse, hoping it would remain hidden.

Based on his disclosure, police unearthed skeletal remains, though the skull was not recovered. Forensic analysis is ongoing to determine identification and exact cause of death.

Authorities have filed murder charges and are seeking custodial interrogation to recover missing evidence and gain clarity.

Superintendent BS Namegouda credited persistent investigation and mobile data for exposing the truth behind the facade.
