In the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, the people of Hatalageri in Karnataka—popularly known as the ‘soldiers’ village’—have called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take strong and decisive action against Pakistan.

Located 8 km from Gadag, Hatalageri is home to over 200 serving soldiers and numerous veterans. The villagers have a long-standing tradition of joining the armed forces, with many families like the Bentur, Pujar, and Kari proudly having sons and daughters in uniform.

Angered by the continued loss of lives due to Pakistan-backed terrorism, the village elders convened a meeting on Sunday and resolved to send a formal appeal to the Prime Minister. “We support any strong decision taken by the PM to end terrorism. It is time Pakistan is taught a lesson,” the elders stated.

Satyappa Pujar and Maruti Bentur, both parents of serving soldiers, echoed the sentiment. “We have told our sons to fight bravely for the country. We are ready to send more youth to the army if needed,” they said, expressing solidarity with the armed forces and a readiness to defend the nation at all costs.

Beyond military service, residents of Hatalageri actively engage in agriculture and community life, celebrating national days with great pride. The village’s unwavering patriotism continues to inspire generations to serve in the armed forces.
