Haveri: A 34-year-old man from Byadagi town, Chandrappa Totad, has been arrested for allegedly deceiving a victim out of ₹5.8 lakh through a fraudulent stock market investment scheme.
The accused approached Manoj via WhatsApp and arranged a meeting, promising daily returns exceeding 2% on investments. To build credibility, he presented counterfeit documents from Dhanush Stocks Investments (D Stock). Trusting the scheme, the victim invested ₹5.8 lakh before realizing he had been scammed.
Following a complaint at the CEN police station, an investigation uncovered that the accused had used similar tactics to defraud others. DySP Pragya Anand has urged anyone else affected by the scam to come forward with information.
