In a heart-wrenching turn of events from Hubballi, Karnataka, a disagreement over scratch cards between two young boys spiraled into a deadly act of violence. A 14-year-old student lost his life after allegedly being stabbed by his 12-year-old companion on Monday evening.

The shocking incident unfolded around 6:30 pm within the limits of the Kamaripet police station. Authorities say that what began as a trivial argument escalated rapidly. The younger child, reportedly a sixth-standard pupil, is said to have stormed off, fetched a sharp-edged cutter from home, and returned to attack his friend.

Eyewitnesses nearby immediately came to the injured teen’s aid and transported him to a local medical facility. However, despite doctors’ efforts, he was declared dead shortly after arrival due to severe internal injuries.

The minor accused has since been apprehended by the police. Legal procedures are being followed, and the boy will be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board for appropriate action. Investigators are continuing to collect evidence and witness accounts.

The tragic event has left the community stunned and mourning, raising serious concerns about adolescent aggression, emotional regulation in children, and access to dangerous items at home.

Social workers and psychologists have emphasized the need for increased parental supervision, conflict resolution education, and early intervention to prevent such senseless tragedies in the future.
