Hubballi: Minister for Irrigation DK Shivakumar has said that it was dangerous to support the assassinator of Mahatma Gandhi.

A debate has kick-started after actor-turned-politician Kamal Hasan recently said that ‘First terrorist of Independent India was a Hindu’, in a direct reference fo Mahatma Gandhi’s assassinator Nathuram Godse. Close on the heels of this, three BJP leaders- Pragya Thakur, Ananth Kumar Hegade and Nalin Kumar Kateel made statements supporting Nathuram Godse.

Talking about this development, DKShi said that it was a dangerous trend where Godse is being supported.

“By supporting the assassinator of Gandhi, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Ananthkumar Hegde stand exposed of their culture and mindset,” said DKShi.

Speaking about the Kundagola by-election, the minister said that one of the independent candidates was supporting Congress candidate Kusumavathi Shivalli.
