Hubbali: A threatening letter talking of ‘killing’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the 2019 Lok Sabha election rally in the district was received by the Superintendent of Police office at Dharwad, here on Sunday, February 10.

According to the police sources, the letter was received in the SP office about 10 days ago.

Two investigating teams were formed, which conducted search operations at Haveri district, as it was suspected to have received from there.

According to the investigation conducted, it is now known that the letter was ‘fake’.

SP of Haveri, Parashuram has clarified to a regional daily that the letter that was received by the SP office of Dharwad was a fake one and that there was no threat to PM Modi.

Even though this is proven to be fake, the security measures have been beefed up during PM Modi’s visit.
