Hubballi: Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Jagadish Shettar has said that Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has sanctioned Rs. 300 crore for the development of Channamma Circle in Hubballi and Jubilee Circle in Dharwad.
He has assured to provide all the funds required to construct the flyover,” Mr Shettar noted.
Speaking at the inauguration of the road overbridge (ROB) at the railway gate on Gadag Road Shettar said, “A detailed project report (DPR) prepared by Mumbai-based Spectrum Consultancy has already been submitted to the State Government, proposing to construct a major flyover at an estimated cost of nearly Rs 1,000 crore, with the busy Channamma Circle in Hubballi as its centre.”
The arms of the flyover are proposed to begin at Bankapur Chowk on P B Road, Clarks Inn Hotel on Gokul Road, Hosur on Dharwad Road, Desai Cross on Kusugal Road, and Lamington School on Lamington Road.
Further he stated that the State Government has to submit the DPR to the Union Government which would provide funds for the project.
‘No politics’
District In-charge Minister Vinay Kulkarni, who inaugurated the ROB, stated that leaders in the twin cities are working unitedly without doing politics, with regard to development works.
MLC Basavaraj Horatti asked the corporators to bring the need of development to the notice of MLAs and MLCs, so that they can raise the issue in the session of the State Legislature.
MP Pralhad Joshi stated that the doubling of Hubballi-Bengaluru railway line via Chikkajajur and Tumakuru would be completed by 2020.
