Hubballi: The Karnataka Balvikas Academy Chairman Vedavyas Koulgi has condemned the selective targeting of opposition party leaders by the Modi government through the Central agencies.

Speaking to reporters in Hubballi, the senior Congress leader said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was indulging in “revenge politics” by letting the Central agencies like Income Tax Department, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate to suppress his opponents.

“Congress party is not opposed to income tax raids. However, what we are opposed to is selective targeting of opposition party leaders and the timing of the raid when 40-plus Congress MLAs from Gujarat were staying in Bengaluru, to avoid being poached by the BJP leaders,” he said.

“Do the BJP leaders want us to believe that all their leaders were born with a golden spoon in their mouth? If not, then how come they have so much wealth now,and why the I-T Department officials are not raiding them?”, he questioned.

The entire world witnessed how BJP leader Gali Janardhan Reddy spent crores of money on his daughter’s wedding but no I-T raid or action was taken against him, Koulagi said.
