As part of a robust safety strategy, Flag Marches and intensive security drills were recently held at key railway stations in the Hubballi Division. This large-scale operation aimed to enhance safety in railway zones, deter unlawful acts, and improve emergency preparedness.
The synchronized effort involved the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and the RPF Dog Squad, with major stations undergoing meticulous screening of passengers and baggage. Entry and exit points were specially monitored for enhanced control.
Advanced security tools—including Hand-Held Metal Detectors (HHMDs), Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMDs), and luggage scanners—were deployed to detect threats efficiently. Meanwhile, CCTV systems are actively surveilling major stations around the clock, ensuring constant monitoring of railway premises.
The operation was conducted under the direction of the Ministry of Railways, which emphasizes periodic readiness assessments to tackle unexpected threats. Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Shri Alok Kumar stated that such measures are part of an ongoing commitment to protecting commuters and infrastructure. He reinforced that regular security checks are vital to maintaining safe travel environments.
This initiative not only boosts public confidence but also underscores the authorities’ proactive stance on railway security.
