Hubballi: State Minister D K Shivakumar who leads the Kundagola by-election campaign for Congress and Sriramulu leading the same for the Bharatiya Janata Party, have both fallen ill due to continuous campaigning. Following this, the campaign has been stopped for some time.
After the Lok Sabha elections in the state, DKShi was made in-charge of the assembly by-election campaign for Congress in Kundagola. He was campaigning for the Congress candidate Kusuma Shivalli in Kundagola without any rest, all these days.
The high temperature in the area and continuous campaign rallies and meetings have taken a toll on DK Shi. His BP and sugar levels have increased forcing him to stop campaigning for some time. He was advised to stay indoors by the doctors and allowed to meet only the senior leaders of the party.
BJP leader Sriramulu was also campaigning in full swing in Kundagola. He held road shows in Karadikoppa and Betadooru despite having a fever. His fever increased owing to the high temperature in the area which made him leave the roadshow halfway and go to Bellari. BJP sources informed that he would be returning after two days for the last phase of campaigning.
