Hunsur: Forest Staff Member Injured in Tiger Attack
In an incident on Sunday in Konanahosahalli village of Hunsur taluk, a tiger attacked and injured a forest department staff member during a combing operation near the boundary of Nagarahole National Park.
Divakar, a forest staff member from the Veeranahosahalli range of Nagarahole Park, sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Hanagod Hospital. The operation was initiated after a tiger attacked and injured cattle near Kolavige on Saturday. A team, led by DRFOs Naveen and Naveen Gowda, was conducting a combing operation in the area where the tiger had been spotted.
During the operation, the sound of firecrackers set off by the team startled the tiger, which was hiding in a maize field. In response, the tiger suddenly attacked Divakar. The team fired shots into the air and shouted, causing the frightened tiger to release Divakar and flee back into the forest.
