
Wildlife Trafficking Arrest in Hunsur: Devkari Caught Selling Live Animal
Hunsur : In a swift operation, the forest patrol team raided a shop in Hunsur, arresting Devkari for attempting to sell a monitor lizard. The raid was conducted on a tip-off, and the accused was found with the animal at his shop, Tulsi Adivasi Nilambari Hair Oil, located at Azadnagar Gate on the Hunsur-Nagarhole main road.
The team, led by ACF Rudresh and RFO K. Surendra, under the guidance of DCF Chandrasekhar Gowda C. Patil of the Forest Wildlife Division, carried out the operation. The accused was arrested and sent to judicial custody, while the live animal was released back into the wild at Nagarhole Park.
The operation was carried out by DRFOs Mohan and Muthuraj, along with staff members Mimamsab Sagari, Tirupathipooja, and Venkatesh. This successful raid highlights the ongoing efforts to combat wildlife trafficking in the region and protect endangered species.
