Ballari witnessed a fervent rally as Gali Janardhana Reddy, BJP MLA from Gangavathi, energised supporters with a passionate speech in Choranur as part of the Sandur by-election campaign. Drawing from his past electoral successes, Reddy recalled, “Fourteen years ago, we won nine out of ten seats in undivided Ballari district, losing only in Sandur. This time, Anjanadri Hanuman himself has sent me to Ballari to secure a victory in Sandur.”
Reddy articulated a comprehensive vision for the development of Ballari, reminiscing about significant projects he had proposed, including the establishment of hospitals, improved road infrastructure, and an airport. He stated, “I dreamed of developing Ballari’s mineral wealth for the state’s benefit, and with the support of Yediyurappa, made strides toward that vision.” However, he lamented that “political scheming” had previously kept him away from Ballari. “But as they say, karma returns. Those who created unnecessary troubles for me are now facing difficulties,” he added, alluding to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah without naming him.
With an air of confidence, Reddy declared, “Fourteen years ago, I led the BJP to victory in all constituencies except Sandur. This time, we will start our winning streak from here. I am certain that in 2028, we will win at least 150 seats.” His words underscored his belief in the BJP’s potential for a robust showing in the upcoming elections.
Reddy did not shy away from targeting the opposition, specifically Sandur CPI Mahesh Gowda. He accused Gowda of acting like a Congress worker and intimidating BJP supporters. “I’ve dealt with CBI officers; who is this CPI in comparison? I’ve heard the audio where he intimidates our party workers. Let me assure you all—no one needs to fear anyone. We are with you,” he reassured the crowd, encouraging unity and resilience among BJP members.
Gali Janardhana Reddy’s rally in Choranur served as a critical platform for galvanising support for the BJP in the Sandur by-election. His blend of personal anecdotes, strategic promises, and assertive criticism of the opposition resonated with supporters, setting the stage for a competitive electoral battle ahead.
