
Judge dies of heart attack minutes before starting session in court
In a tragic loss to Karnataka’s judiciary, Judge Vishwanath V Mugathi passed away on Monday morning following a sudden heart attack. He was 43.
Serving as the Third Additional Senior Civil Judge in Kalaburagi, Judge Vishwanath reported for duty as usual but suffered a cardiac arrest just before entering the courtroom. Despite efforts to rush him to a hospital, he died en route.
Judge Vishwanath had recently been transferred to Kalaburagi from Banahatti in Bagalkot district. Since joining judicial service in 2014, he had held various postings across the state, including Shivamogga, Hubballi, Gangavathi, and Channagiri.
He is survived by his wife and young daughter. His untimely demise has sent shockwaves through the legal fraternity and judiciary circles.
