Kalaburagi: The Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced two individuals to 30 years imprisonment each for the rape of a young woman. Additionally, a fine of Rs 20,000 has been imposed on each convict.

Syed Aman Ali (19) of Khandala Ground, Millat Nagar, and Syed Talaha Nooman (22) of Bilalabad Colony were found guilty of the crime.

The incident occurred on February 10, 2020, when the two convicts noticed the victim on the roof of her house. Syed Talaha Nooman raped the girl while Syed Aman Ali threatened to record the act on a mobile phone. They later switched roles, with Syed Aman Ali committing the rape while Syed Talaha Nooman pretended to record a video. The duo threatened to release the video if the victim reported the crime.

Inspector Dilip Sagar of Women Police Station conducted the investigation and filed the charge sheet in court.

Judge Yamanappa Bammanagi presided over the trial and delivered the verdict. The court has also ordered that the victim be compensated Rs 7 lakh.

Special Public Prosecutor Shantaveera B. represented the government in the case.
