Man Accused of Cheating Sisters in Investment Scam

Investment Scam

Kalaburagi: A man has been booked at the Cyber, Economic, and Narcotics Control (CEN) station for allegedly duping his sisters of ₹20 lakh under the pretense of doubling their investment through Quest Capital Trading.

Poornima Narayana Rao, an employee at a private bank, and Pratima Jagiradar from Karuneshwar Nagar fell victim to the fraud. The accused is identified as a moneylender based in Hubli.

The incident occurred when Hanumantha, who befriended the victims during trading training, convinced them to invest ₹10 lakh each (a total of ₹20 lakh) with promises of doubling their money. However, Poornima alleges that she never received any returns on her investment and accuses Hanumantha of cheating them out of their hard-earned money.
