Massive job fair in Kalaburagi on April 16; over 200 companies to recruit
Deputy Commissioner B Fauzia Tarannum has urged the youth of Kalyana Karnataka to actively take part in a mega job fair scheduled for April 16, from 9 am to 5 pm, at KCT Engineering College, located near Khaja Bandenawaj Dargah in Kalaburagi.
So far, 216 companies have confirmed participation—125 of them from major cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai—along with several local employers. The event has already seen over 9,000 job seekers register online, with an expected crowd of 15,000. For those yet to register, 20 on-site counters will be available.
To ensure smooth execution, Deputy Commissioner Tarannum chaired a coordination meeting on Wednesday and instructed officials to boost publicity and participation, particularly from unemployed youth across the region.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Rajya Sabha Opposition Leader Mallikarjun Kharge, District In-charge Minister Priyanka Kharge, and other dignitaries including Sharanprakash Patil, MLAs, and senior officers will attend the event.
Special transport arrangements are being made, with additional buses to ferry candidates from districts such as Bidar, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Ballari, and Vijayanagara. Notifications have also been sent to job seekers registered under the Yuva Nidhi Yojana.
The event is part of a broader initiative by the Skill Development Department to tackle unemployment in the Kalyana Karnataka region. Candidates can register online at https://skillconnect.kaushalkar.com or in person at the venue.
