Kalaburagi: In a move reflecting the government’s commitment to rewarding reformation, seven prisoners from Kalaburagi Central Jail were granted early release on Saturday after serving 14-year life sentences. Their good behavior during incarceration was the key factor in this decision.

The released individuals include Shivappa from Marakandanahalli, Raichur, Manikya from Shankaragam, Solapur (Maharashtra), Shivraj and Anand Uppar from Bandempalli, Sedam, Anjilappa from Mudhol, Sedam, Anand from Kon Malakhed, Bhalki, and Sangappa from Kadehalli, Chittapur.

According to Chief Superintendent R Anitha, the inmates were officially freed on Saturday evening, following the government’s directive acknowledging their exemplary conduct behind bars.

This decision highlights the importance of rehabilitation and second chances for reformed individuals, paving the way for their reintegration into society.
