Kalaburagi police have arrested four individuals, including a man’s son, for orchestrating his murder and disguising it as an accident to claim insurance money.
The crime, which took place in July 2024, was exposed after thorough investigations. Addressing the media on Monday, Superintendent of Police Adduru Srinivasulu shared the shocking details.
The victim, Kalingaraya, was riding with his son, Sathish, as a pillion when Sathish requested to stop near Bennur crossing, claiming he needed to urinate. While Kalingaraya waited, Sathish’s accomplice, Arun, used a tractor to deliberately run over him, killing him on the spot.
The plot was designed to make Kalingaraya’s death appear accidental, enabling the culprits to claim insurance money. However, discrepancies in their story led authorities to uncover the truth, resulting in the arrests of Sathish and his three accomplices.
This calculated act of betrayal has shocked the community, highlighting the lengths some individuals may go to for monetary gain.
