Kalaburagi: In a heartbreaking incident, two brothers, Balaji (49) and Mahesh (47) from Udayagiri, Maharashtra, drowned in the Bhima river near the Dattatreya temple while attempting to rescue a fellow devotee.

The tragedy unfolded when five devotees visiting the temple decided to take a bath in the river. During their swim, they noticed their companion, Mohan, struggling in the water. In a brave act, Balaji and Mahesh rushed to save him but tragically drowned in the process. Fortunately, locals managed to rescue Mohan.

A case has been registered at the Devalagapur police station, and an investigation is currently underway.
