Ballari: Former Chief Minister and Congress Leader Siddaramaiah again attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and said that Modi Government had put the country into debt trap by borrowing Rs. 100 Lakh Crores from International Financial Institutions in the last eight years.

He was speaking at a public meeting organised to celebrate the completion of 1,000 kms of 3,570-Km Bharat Jodo Yatra in Ballari on Saturday October 15. Is this the Acche Din the PM Modi has promised? Prime Minister borrowed Rs. 100 Lakh Crore in a short time, he said.

Coming down heavily at right-wing groups, the forymer Chief Minister said that Hindu Mahasabha, Hindu Jagarana Vedike, Bajarang Dal, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and other outfits of Sangh Parivar were spreading hate and restlessness in the society. “The hatred has only grown in the society after Modi assumed power in 2014. BJP are dividing people along the lines of religion, caste, language, and other cultural identities. Dalits, minorities and other backward communities are unable to lead a peaceful life. People are living in constant fear,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra is a historic event, he exclaimed and stressed that it was the longest padayatra in the history of India.
