Ballari: After the new district in-charge ministers were announced by Deputy Secretary (Administration) M B Vijaykumar, as per the directions of Governor of Karnataka Vajubhai Vala yesterday, Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi has clarified on the nature in which they were appointed.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, September 17, he said, “The district in-charge ministers have been appointed according to the ‘Gujarat Model.’ When Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were running the Gujarat government, they did not appoint lawmakers as district in-charge ministers to the same constituency from which they won. The same has been applied by the Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa government in the state.”
Meanwhile, DCM Savadi said, “I was not expecting the DCM’s post as I am not an MLA. I have been made in-charge of the Ballari district. The State Health Minister Sriramulu is happy with the decision.”
