Bidar: Air Commodore Abhijit Nene took over as the Air Officer Commanding of the Bidar Base of the Indian Air Force on Wednesday February 1.
Outgoing Air Commodore Sameer Sondhi handed over power to Abhijit Nene at his office.
Air Commodore Abhijit Nene joined the Air Force as a fighter aircraft pilot on June 21, 1993. He is an aircraft flying coach with a CAT educational qualification. He has more than 5000 hours of flying experience.
He has flown Jaguar, Hunter, Ace U-30, Kiran and HPT – 32 aircraft.
He has completed his training at reputed institutions such as the National Defence Academy, the Shastra-equipped Personnel Training College in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, and the Army Combat Training College at the War Time Military Headquarters (Mahua) in Madhya Pradesh.
Prior to coming to Bidar, he had served in the Air Force Trainers’ School, Warfare Tactics and Air Force Martial Arts Research Institutes.
He has also served as the head of the Jaguar team and signal team Gayalaya.
He has been honoured with the Vishisht Seva Medal for his invaluable service.
