Bidar: Animal Husbandry Minister Prabhu Chavan said that the Cabinet has given administrative approval to a Rs 15 Crore project for the construction of a residential school building for Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Girls’ School at Chintaki in Aurad (B) Taluk.
In a press release, the Minister stated that under the tribal sub-plan of the Mega (Macro) Action Plan of The Kalyana Karnataka Area Development Board for the year 2022 – 23, and five residential school buildings are being constructed in the District of Kalyana Karnataka region. For this, the Government has approved a Rs 75 Crore project at the rate of Rs. 15 Crore per Residential School. Of these, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Girls’ Residential School at Chintaki in Aurad (B) Taluk of Bidar District and Kittur Rani Channamma Residential School at Konamelakunda Village in Bhalki Taluk are being selected, he stated.
“The development of education in the Constituency has been given top priority with the objective of ensuring that everyone should be educated as per the wishes of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution. Accordingly, schools and colleges are being constructed in the Taluk and necessary infrastructure is being provided. A long-standing demand was to build a residential school for girls in Chintaki, a border village. I have brought in the grant with constant efforts,” he stated.
The Cabinet has approved the construction of a residential school for girls at Chintaki and directed the officials to start work on the construction of a well-equipped residential school building at the earliest. Tenders will be called in a few days and the work on the construction of the building will start soon, he stressed.
