Bidar: Residents of district received a welcome change on Friday night as heavy rain swept through the district. The downpour, accompanied by thunder and strong winds, brought much relief from the scorching heat that had bothered the people of  the district, with temperatures due to the downpour dropped from 42 degrees Celsius to a more comfortable 35 degrees Celsius.

However, the storm also caused some disruption in the district. Horticulture crops damaged due to speedy winds, and a large tree fell on the railway station in Kamalnagar town. In Madanur village, strong winds ripped tin sheets from houses, which then fell onto electrical wires, causing power outages and hindering daily life.

The rain began around 9 pm on Friday and continued through the night, impacting Bidar city as well as several villages across the district.

According to the Meteorological Department, residents of Bidar can expect more rain in the coming days, with forecasts predicting showers for the next two to three days.
