Bidar: A circle Police Inspector had to open fire after the robbers tried to assault the policemen who had gone to arrest them. The incident took place in Bidar.
The attack took place at the Ring Road in Mykur here at a time when the police were trying to nab the culprits involved in several robbery cases based on a tip-off they had received. Bidar Rural Circle Police Mallikarjun Yathanur had to fire a round in the air when the two robbers came to assault the policemen.
They later managed to take one of the accused into custody. But another escaped. Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Nagendra and staff were also involved in the operation.
