Bidar: Geeta Pawar, a member of Dhupatamahagaon Gram Panchayat in Aurad Taluk, has been awarded the Swachh Sujal Shakti Samman award by the Central Government for the year 2023.
Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Saturday March 4 felicitated Geeta Pawar with the award at a function organised at Pandit Deendayal Antyodaya Auditorium in Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.
In January 2022, Geetha, who received information about the implementation of ODF+ units and successfully implemented it in Dhoopatamahagaon Gram Panchayat limits in collaboration with the Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, Zilla Panchayat and Reliance Foundation, Swachh Bharat Mission.
Gita Pawar has emerged as the only Gram Panchayat achiever in the category of proper management of grey water and sludge management. Under various water conservation efforts including Swachh Bharat Mission, and Jal Jeevan Mission, National Water Mission, women leaders have been appointed for making clean village.
President Draupadi Murmu congratulated and gave certificate to her on the occasion of International Women’s Day at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.
