Bidar: In a shocking incident, a poor father, who had dreamt of making his daughter a doctor, was duped by three men and extorted money from him.
The three men duped a Bidar-based man on the pretext of getting a medical seat for his daughter. Mohammed Abdul Razzaq, a resident of Bidar, lost Rs 16.23 lakh and lodged a complaint with the High Grounds police in this regard.
He informed that his daughter has scored 241 marks in NEET, he got acquainted with one of his relatives to Sana Islam Khan
She claimed that a seat could be arranged under the management quota at Al Ameen Medical College in Vijayapura, but was charged Rs 16.23 lakh for the same. She had told me to give him the money.
Razzaq paid her in advance and came to Al Ameen Hospital in Vasanthnagar to meet her. He has also given certificates of his daughter’s education.
Sana and another woman had been meeting Shabana at the hospital.
Both of them had promised that their daughter would get a seat, the complaint said. A few days later, Razzaq transferred the money to the account of one Mohammad Armaan, police said.
The financial transaction took place between January and March. When the accused stopped responding to Razzaq’s phone calls, they became suspicious and lodged a complaint at the police station.
