Kalaburagi: A civil court has ordered the Deputy Commissioner’s car to be seized due to the delay in releasing compensation to a farmer.

During the Bhima Lift Irrigation Project in 2008, Kalappa Methre from Udachana Village lost 33 gunta of farmland, which was submerged.

Kallapa was to get Rs 7.41 lakh in compensation as a result of the incident. DC Yeshwanth V. Gurukar had failed to release the compensation payment despite the court’s order.

The court, after taking serious note of the situation, ordered the seizure of his car (Registration no. KA 32 G 9990). The car was seized by court staff and the advocate in response to the order.
