Kalaburgi: Thousands of people bid a tearful good bye to former CM of Karnataka Dharam Singh here on July 28 at Nellogi in Jawargi.
The last rites were performed with full state honours. Dharam Singh’s elder son Vijay Singh performed last rites on behalf of family in accordance with the Rajput community rituals.
Dharam Singh’s close friend and senior Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge, CM Siddaramaiah, Veerappa Moily, Digvijay Singh, M B Patil and Venugopal were present on the occasion.
Singh passed away on July 28 morning following a massive cardiac arrest. The body was brought to Kalaburgi in an ambulance late last night and was kept for public viewing at N V Ground. Several party workers, politicians and people gathered to pay their homage to the leader here.
