Kalaburagi: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai hits back at KPCC President D. K. Shivakumar and AICC State In-Charge Randeep Singh Surjewala for their statement that Vokkaligas and Lingayats are not beggars to demand reservation. Are the SC-ST and backward classes who are now getting reservation beggars?, he asked sternly.

Addressing an election rally in favour of BJP candidate Rajkumar Patil Telkur in Sedam, he said that DK Shivakumar and Surjewala’s statement that Vokkaligas and Lingayats are not beggars to demand reservation is an insult to the Reserved category.

The statements of DK Shivakumar and Surjewala would amount to whether the SCs, STs and backward classes who are now getting reservation are beggars. This statement is a testimony to the fact that the Congress always treats people as beggars,” he said.

The Congress men use the vote whenever they want to make people beggars again. The Congress has been pushing people into the well of poverty for so long. But this time people will push them into the well of loss. Congress is frustrated and hence ranting, he added.
